内容简介：

《中华道教大辞典》是我国第一部系统全面介绍道教文化诸多门类的大型工具书，由中国社会科学出版社出版。辞典计有16大门类、收录辞目一万五千余条、共500余万字，囊括道家，道教门派、人物，道教典籍，教理、教义及基础知识；斋醮、科仪及戒律；符菉、法术与占验术数；道教医药学；道教养生功法及武术；内丹学；房中养生；外丹黄白术；道教神仙和民俗信仰；道教文学艺术；洞天福地与宫观；附录道士人名、字号索引等门类。有些门类内又含有小分科，辞义相近的条目尽量排在一起。辞典正文皆是按门类分科编排的，在各门类中有些实在不便细分的辞目，按笔画顺序排列。这种按辞目内容编排的方法汲取了“百科全书”的长处。学者可以将该辞典作为“道教知识大全”来阅读。该辞典在各门类中同名而实异的辞目，分别作出解释，书中不列参见条。这部辞典的编撰是近年来道教研究领域一项重大工程，由中国社会科学院哲学研究所胡孚琛任主编，包括一批资深著名学者在内的100多位海内外学者参加了编写工作。该辞典同时在台湾地区出版发行。

牟钟鉴：千古文化　一代大典——评《中华道教大辞典》

由胡孚琛博士主编、一百多位学者集体参与编写的《中华道教大辞典》，历经三个春秋的辛勤劳作，终于问世。该典收词目一万五千余条，共五百余万字，其规模之巨大，内容之齐全，都是前所未有的，这是多年以来道教研究成果的一次重要汇总。它的问世是道教学界的一件盛事，将树起一座文化丰碑，颇令人鼓舞。

中国道家与道教文化源远流长，总汇百家，包罗万象，与整个中国社会和文化息息相关，是一座有待开发的文化资源宝库。改革开放以来，基础薄弱的道家与道教文化研究异军突起，生气蓬勃，研究队伍和成果已相当可观。受学术繁荣的影响，社会各界也越来越关心道家和道教，渴望得到更多的知识，迫切需要有权威的工具书作为凭借和参考，而以往的道教辞典或年代较早，或收词不全，不能令人满意。先是有中国道协以教内学者为主编辑出版了《道教大辞典（1994年），其典以解畅经旨为重，带有宗教学术的色彩。接着便是这部大辞典的问世，它以教外学者为主，重在全面介绍道教文化知识，具有人文社会科学的性质。两典作者亦互有交叉。

《中华道教大辞典》的首要优点是门类齐备，内容丰富。全典正文分类有：道家；道教门派、人物；道教经籍；教理、教义及基础知识；斋醮、科仪及戒律；符箓、法术与占验术数；道教医药学、道教养生功法及武术；内丹学；房中养生；外丹黄白术；道教神仙及民俗信仰；道教文学艺术；洞天福地及宫观。这个体系涵盖了道教文化的各个层次各个侧面，具有大而全的特点，读者能从中获得有关道教的全方位知识，并且领略道教文化极大的包容性和扩散性。它对整个传统文化研究都有重要的参考价值。

勇克难点，不设禁区，是这部辞典的又一优点，道教文化有其宗教神秘性和驳杂性，又好用异名隐言，形成自己独特的话语系统，外人颇难进入。这部大辞典迎难而上，对于学者视为畏途的内外丹功、斋醮、符箓及各种术数，都加以破译解读，用现代语言标出。把历来视为禁区的“房中养生”也分科一一列入，这是学术上的一次突破。学术本无禁区，历史应予尊重，介绍必须全面，这是正确的治典之道。

这部辞典的另一优点是写作态度客观，不迷信亦不武断，不宣扬亦不批判，重在知识和资料的准确介绍，使教外读者看得明白，使教内读者有收益而无反感，因此，它有学术的稳定性，并将拥有广大的读者群。

词条分类编排，有很强的实用性，读者查找起来十分便当，也可以按专题翻阅，获得系统的知识。附录有五：近代道教活动与学术研究；民间宗教；道教学术著作论文索引；中国道教年表；道士人名、字号索引。这五个附录内含丰富实用的学术信息，为道教研究提供了极大的方便。

这部大辞典是集体智慧的结晶，它的作者是现今道教学界相当大一部分很有成就或正在崛起的学者，皆为一时之选。更可喜的是还有台湾、香港、澳门和国外道教学者参与与支持，又在海峡两岸以繁、简体文字同时出版，显示了学界的团结和道教文化凝聚国人、沟通世界的重要作用。众流竞汇，有容乃大，故能成就这部辞典的博大丰厚。

由于工程浩大，时间有限，这部辞典还存在着某些粗糙、疏漏的地方，但有如此巨大成就已足以令人惊叹了。金无足赤，书无完书，盼望作者今后能在修订中使辞典不断完善。
